Chromia Monthly Update July 2024: MVP Mainnet and More!
Welcome to the seventh monthly update of 2024. Let’s take a look at the technical progress, key announcements, and news from around the world of Chromia from the last month!
MVP Mainnet Launched on July 16th!
In July 2024, the most significant milestone in Chromia’s history (so far) was reached, as our mainnet is now live! Visit the MVP Mainnet landing page for key links, including Chromia Vault, Chromia Explorer, and the Native Fees page that allows users to deploy dapp containers.
Roadmap Updates
Our ‘Road to Mainnet’ roadmap has been completed and we are now coordinating to set the medium-term development and ecosystem objectives that will form the next leg of Chromia’s roadmap.
Some of these objectives have already been announced in our MVP Mainnet Launch post, including Native Staking rollout and integrating bridge withdrawals into Chromia Vault. Beyond this, additional objectives will seek to add new functionalities, expand the ecosystem and facilitate future growth.
Incentivized Testing Program
The HackNet program concluded at the end of June, and we have now paid out the 16k CHR in total rewards earned by participants. The remaining 84k CHR from the HackNet prize pool will be used for future initiatives.
On ProjectNet, we announced a one week extension of the dapp submission deadline until Friday, August 2nd. We have seen a pickup in activity, and have now received nine submissions to the contest. Prizes of 20k CHR, 16k CHR, and 14k CHR are up for grabs to the three dapps chosen by our selection panel. We encourage you to visit the ProjectNet page and see if you have what it takes to win!
On the QuestNet front, the last week has seen the addition of two new Quest lines, ‘Bridge Basics’, and a set of tasks from Chromia-based DEX Slurpyswap. Additional quest lines will be added in August. Although 1000+ accounts have completed at least one quest, only ~130 accounts have completed 100% of the available quests.
This is a friendly reminder that the official QuestNet page says “the way to maximize your potential rewards is to complete all available quests, check the dashboard regularly, and stay informed about QuestNet by following Chromia on Telegram and X.”
ChromaWay Joins the AWS Partner Network
ChromaWay has joined Amazon Web Services partner network and is now able to publish software solutions on AWS Marketplace, a platform accessed by millions of customers.
As part of the partnership, ChromaWay will explore avenues for Chromia to leverage AWS. Possibilities being explored include using Chromia to deploy consortium chains, ‘one-click’ deployment of nodes and replica nodes, and connecting AWS based dapps to the Chromia Network.
ChromaWay Resumes EU Collaboration Implementing Chromia Technology
More interesting news came from ChromaWay in the form of an EBSI update, as The European Union has confirmed the continuation of its collaboration with ChromaWay to develop blockchain-based sustainability solutions.
This decision was announced following ChromaWay’s presentation at the EU Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) final review meeting, which showcased advancements in decentralized applications for Digital Product Passports and Intellectual Property rights.
Chromia Invests in Xoob Games
Chromia has announced a seed investment in Xoob Games, formerly known as LaunchJoy. Chromia joined ecosystem partners My Neighbor Alice and Mines of Dalarnia in support of the gaming utility and NFT platform, designed to build a vibrant community by bringing innovative features to the Chromia gaming ecosystem.
