Nakamoto Activation Update: Hard Fork Will Be At Bitcoin Block #867,867
As you may know, Core Developers have been diligently and methodically putting the final touches on the Nakamoto release. The path has included countless testnets, practice forks, aggressive penetration and fuzz testing, whitehats on the hunt, multiple audits, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.
And now, it’s ready. No more practice runs, no more steps, we’re here!
Nakamoto Activation will be finalized at Bitcoin Block #867,867
Currently, this block is projected to occur on October 29th. Fittingly, just before the Bitcoin whitepaper’s 15th birthday, you’ll have fast blocks on the leading Bitcoin L2.
Tune in next week:
Tune in on Thursday, October 24th for a special edition of Bitcoin Builder’s Office Hours to hear directly from Core Developers. They’ll join us to chat about the journey of building Nakamoto, share some things they are excited about with the release, and take your questions.
What are Nakamoto Rules?
