SKALE Labs and Deadfellaz Partner to Launch Genre Defying Digital TCG ‘Death Touch’
SKALE, the gas-free invisible blockchain, today announced a partnership with Deadfellaz, an immensely popular Ethereum NFT project, to bring a genre-defying digital trading card game (TCG) Death Touch to SKALE.
Set to release in early access during Q1 ‘25, Death Touch joins as a marquee gaming title in SKALE’s growing catalog of over 150+ games currently in development on the network. With over 6,000 unique collectors, Deadfellaz plans to launch Death Touch with its community at the forefront of a push into mainstream mobile gaming.
Andrew Saunders, Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at SKALE Labs, commented on today’s news: “I couldn’t be more excited to bring iconic web3 IP into the SKALE ecosystem. As blockchain gaming inevitably continues to grow, it’s exciting to see projects which are truly building for consumer adoption vs. brand adoption. Deadfellaz was also my first PFP NFT, so as a community member of three years, it’s exciting to see founders I have personally believed in from the start, continue to build in the right direction.”
Deadfellaz selected SKALE as the home for Death Touch as its architecture offers the optimal blockchain experience for gaming projects, with over 45 million unique active gaming wallets and $8.5 Billion saved in gas fees to date. SKALE’s speed and high-throughput capabilities, via invisible blockchain underpinning, allow for a gaming experience akin to that of web2 infrastructure and will be a critical component as SKALE aims to drive mass adoption of web3 gaming. SKALE’s distinctive zero-gas fee anatomy allows Death Touch players not to waste money on exorbitant transaction fees and to keep the focus primarily on the gaming experience.
Psych, Co-Founder of Deadfellaz, added: “Deadfellaz has always been pushing at the forefront of interactive storytelling & gamification. This set the stage for our highly-anticipated digital TCG “Deathtouch”, a mobile-first title, built for fans of the TCG genre wanting something more exciting & interactive than what they are used to. This endeavor has been further bolstered by our partnership with SKALE, as their gas-free structure will enable us to grow this F2P title in a way that makes sense for our web3 gamers, competitive gamers & the average casual gamer.”
Today’s news comes on the heels of SKALE’s partnership announcement with Atari and Pong founder, Nolan Bushnell, as he seeks to build his next gaming venture on SKALE. With more than 150 projects currently being developed and released on SKALE, the chain has quickly become a leading player in the web3 gaming space.
